SHELTON, CT -June 19, 2002 - New Castle Hotels, a Shelton, CT-based hotel ownership and management company, has announced the following personnel appointments to the management teams at their hotels in Nova Scotia, Canada:

John Wilson is general manager at the Liscombe Lodge in Liscomb Mills, located on the province's eastern shore. Previously, Wilson was controller at the Marriott Racine in Racine, WI where he received the Marriott Award for Service Excellence.  He's also served as assistant controller and systems administrator at the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax. Wilson holds a bachelor of commerce degree in finance and marketing from Saint Mary's University in Halifax.

Walther Lauffer is general manager of the Keltic Lodge, located on Cape Breton at the northernmost tip of Nova Scotia. Prior to his current position, Lauffer was general manager of the Liscombe Lodge in Liscomb Mills. His career history includes positions as director of operations and director of food and beverage at the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, MI, as well as director of food and beverage at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario. He holds a degree in hotel, resort and restaurant management from Canadore College in Ontario.

Rene LeBlanc has joined New Castle Hotels as the general manager of The Pines Resort, situated above the Annapolis Basin at the province's southwestern region. LeBlanc is in his fifth year as general manager of the property. Previously he served as general manager at the Inverary Resort in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in community studies from the University College of Cape Bretton in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Richard Willett has joined New Castle Hotels as hotel manager of the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax.  Most recently he was general manager of food and beverage and visitor services at the Art Gallery of Ontario. His industry experience includes director of food and beverage positions at the Westin Ottawa and the Westin Edmonton.
